User Agreement for vCampus (vcampus.acc.edu.au)

1. Philosophy

The Australian Christian College Schools are Christian schools. We are committed to a Biblical worldview and to Christian values. The foundation of our philosophy is the triune God of the Bible and His revealed Scriptures. This website, http://vcampus.acc.edu.au, is the 'virtual campus' of Australian Christian College. It is expected that users of vCampus will act in a Biblical, Christian manner.

2. Purpose

The purpose of the vCampus website is to assist ACC students, families and staff in their interactions. vCampus presents users with the following advantages:

  • Improved interaction and relationships,
  • Greater access to academic assistance and guidance,
  • Broadened learning style alternatives and curriculum choices and
  • A reduction in isolation.
The three stages of vCampus are:
  1. Community,
  2. Online Activities and
  3. Teaching Space.
Stage 1 - Community

The first stage of vCampus is to facilitate community and relationship building. With so many students operating 'at distance', we are separated from each other. Sometimes families may even feel somewhat isolated. Building an online community brings us together on our commonalities. It helps parents and children know that they 'are not alone'. The vCampus community brings home educating students, families and school staff together.

vCampus brings us together!

Stage 2 - Online Activities and Courses

Stage two is to develop and provide online educational activities and courses. The paper 'technology' in the PACEs complements, and is complemented by, the electronic technology accessed through vCampus.

vCampus provides more services!

Stage 3 - Teaching Space

The third stage is to build a 'teaching space' where assistance in PACEs and learning can be provided via interactive audio and visual means (e.g. electronic whiteboard and audio chat.) The teaching space is where ACC staff can teach and interact with students. ACC is a partnership between homes and the school. It is an interaction between students, parents and teachers. ACC recognises that teaching is a vital part of parenting and that a loving home is an excellent learning environment. ACC combines the educational strengths of the home with the educational strengths of a school and trained teachers. It is a partnership which brings together the family home and our expertise in curriculum, learning, career guidance, and years of experience and knowledge of children in general.

vCampus puts teachers, parents, and students in touch!
